DEVOTIONS, MESSAGES, AND INTERVIEWS "May your mercy come quickly to meet us, for we are in desperate need." – Psalm 79:8 We are preparing for the 40th anniversary of the Hour of Power. It will be 40 years ago this coming February that we had our first national televised church service. It was the beginning of a new thing in religion. Having a church service on television would be a new thing in the history of the Christian church. I said yes, knowing it would be fantastic. People are in hospitals so they can't go to church on Sunday. People are in prisons and they can't go to church on Sunday. People who have no faith - they're skeptical or they're cynical and they're not going to church. We have to bring the church to people who can't or don't come to church and that was the inspiration for a televised church service. But it did not start with me. It started with a friend of mine named Billy Graham... Rebecca St. James (RSJ) is a Dove award winning and Grammy winning contemporary Christian recording artist and a best selling author. She stars in the new DVD movie "Sarah's Choice," where she portrays a young woman who has to find the strength and faith to help her make the choice of a lifetime. The DVD, "Sarah's Choice" is available at hourofpower.org. Sheila Schuller Coleman (SSC) interviews Rebecca. |
